Moroso's London showroom unveiled an exhibition entitled Mono Mania Mexico with new furniture and textiles by inimitable designer Bethan Laura Wood. Presented for the first time during Salone del Mobile, it has been seen for the first time in the UK. The exhibition highlights the creativity and dynamic character of Moroso to its fullest with a dramatic installation and special events for London Design Festival 2018.
Bethan's trips to Mexico were her first taste of Latin America's hot palette of colour and pattern; that sensory experience distilled into an obsession with the stained-glass windows of the new basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. Bethan's interpretation of this amazing building has led to a series of works that subtly reference the craft of embroidery from traditional Otomi textiles.
On show has been displayed new fabrics, furniture and rugs (in collaboration with Golran) designed by Bethan Laura Wood for Moroso. Italian textile house, Limonta has partnered with Moroso to produce this exclusive range. The result has been a vibrant and animated installation of Mexican the med colour, textures, textiles and furniture applications.
Moroso's Clerkenwell showroom is two floors of gallery space dedicated to showcasing a broad selection of furniture and textiles for both contract and residential applications.
