The design studio Lievore Alther Molina, which is focused on product design, consulting and art direction for many companies, has designed SLAM for Sellex -a collection of chairs and benches created specially for contract channel. The Delta Hospital -in Auderghem (Belgium) -, which is part of the Chirec hospital complex, has chosen them for some of its spaces.
After 7 years of work, Delta Hospital opened its doors at the beginning of December, although its official inauguration took place at the end of January. In total, the development of the project has taken 8 years, a short period of time taking into account the size and complexity of the installation.
Their figures explain by themselves the magnitude of the project: 544 operational beds (with the forecast of being able to reach 750), more than 100,000 m2, about 2,000 seating positions and a cost of around 220 million euros. In short, the construction of the Delta Hospital, led by the ASSAR architecture studio, has been one of the largest hospital works of recent years in Belgium.
SELLEX, company specialized in design furniture, has participated in this program, equipping the more than 2,000 seats required for the hospital's staff. The architects of ASSAR were responsible for projecting the new hospital and were clear from the beginning that the SLAM program of beds and banks had to be part of the installation. They had seen the SLAM bench on another occasion and admit that they “loved it“, not only for its design, but also for the possibility of including other elements of the SLAM family, thus providing a homogeneous aesthetic in the installation.
In addition to the SLAM seating program, SELLEX has a wide range of waiting seats for hospitals and medical centers that make waiting more comfortable, offering ergonomics, but also quality materials.
