New Maluma Pendant Lamp by Fumie Shibata for Fritz Hansen

Introducing the brand new Maluma™ pendant by Fumie Shibata, created in collaboration with Fritz Hansen. Maluma - a design term for round and soft - features coloured, hand-blown glass and a matching suspension. A fusion of smooth curves and frosted glass, the Maluma adds a modern expression to any setting.

Available in delicate rose, deep plum, and earthy moss, the pendant adds soft colour to any room. Left off or lit, it keeps its colour giving both soft ambient light and functional downlight from its open bottom.

“I’ll never forget the sight of soft lighting emanating from houses when I first visited the Nordics a long time ago. I have learnt a lot from Fritz Hansen's meticulous production approach and I am delighted to release a new pendant in collaboration with an iconic Scandinavian design company,” Shibata says. “I hope that Maluma's soft light will brighten the lives of many people.”

The smart suspension design is Fritz Hansen's unique solution to the challenge of hanging handblown glass straight, balancing the natural weight of the pendant.

“The Maluma pendant boasts a contemporary and playful expression, fusing Fritz Hansen's expertise with Fumie Shibata's unique aesthetic,” explains Christian Andresen, Head of Design at Fritz Hansen.
