Fernando Salas, the Camarim Studio and Miguel Bartolomé, protagonists at Cevisama Lab 2015 forum

The Forum of Architecture and Design Lab Cevisama, Laboratory ideas Cevisama, meets another year big names Interior, architecture and design. New trends in these areas and their relation to the ceramic industry are the backbone of this forum, which takes place in the context of the reference sample of Spanish ceramic sector.

The forum is divided into three days of great interest to professionals, prescribers, manufacturers and students.

The first of these three days will take place on Tuesday 10 February and will be dedicated to interior. It participate as speaker of emergency renowned designer and interior Fernando Salas, that will delight the audience with a lecture entitled “Alternative”, setting out the different ways of conceiving an interior and how they affect the different views, perceptions and decisions.

Salas is a multifaceted career that stands out especially in the field of interior, although in product design also has to his credit with great works. It has created spaces for clients such as Levis Strauss, Cost, the Silken hotel chain or Vega Sicilia. It has numerous awards throughout his career and has been nominated three times the National Design Award. Prestigious Speaker, also teaches at various schools. Salas participation is, clearly, a luxury for Cevisama and a great opportunity for visitors.

While, on the day dedicated to the architecture, will be the 11 th of February, the protagonists are Vasco Matias Correa and Patricia Ferreira de Sousa, founders of the architectural Camarim. This Portuguese study has just been awarded the Prize Ceramics for Architecture and Interior Ascer, in the category of Architecture, for their project “House in Prince Real (Lisbon)”, a project that jury highlighted “the brilliant interpretation of the use of ceramics”. Speaking at the Forum Cevisama Lab, entitled “Between the Antipodes”, provides a unique opportunity to approach these young talents.

Finally, designer and lecturer Miguel Bartolomé will participate on Thursday 12 February in the last day, the dedicated to design, with his paper “did not know this could be done with ceramic!”. Bartholomew, one of the specialists in ceramic restless panorama design in our country will address the new perspectives, some of them unpublished, ceramics around. It will explain how to squeeze the essential characteristics of this material, through real projects developed by different creative. In his presentation, detail what must be taken into account when using and / or design ceramic products, while setting out what design strategies must be used to make ceramics ideas in terms of the various budgetary constraints.

Bartholomew is an industrial designer training, vocation design professor at the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón and, for some years, creator and promoter of “Ceramics Freehand”, an online space dedicated to designers who want to use ceramics in their projects as main material.

All lectures Forum of Architecture and Design Lab begin at Cevisama 12 hours in the “nude Agora”, space for debate and reflection located on level 3 flag 6 of Feria Valencia. It is in the context of Cevisama, the reference sample of the ceramic industry, natural stone and bathroom which celebrates its 33rd 9 to the 13 February in the Valencia fairgrounds, which also converge samples and Maderalia Feria Habitat selection under the overall proposed architecture and interior “See You in Valencia”.
