Vicent Berbegal, the president and founder of Actiu, received the National Design Award from his Majesties the Kings of Spain and accompanied by his family, his wife Carmen Roque and his daughters Carmen, Laura and Soledat Berbegal, who represent the second generation incorporated into the company. Berbegal has pointed out the importance of this recognition to the effort and joint dedication of all the people who have formed and currently form Actiu, without whom the company would not have reached the position it currently occupies in the market, nor receive such a prestigious award as East.
The King and Queen of Spain have presided over the award ceremony of the 2017 National Innovation and Design Awards granted by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness through the State Secretariat of Research, Development and Innovation, during the ceremony held at the Forest Theater of Móstoles. These distinctions are the highest award given in Spain in recognition of companies and professionals who have stood out for their excellent and exemplary career in the field of design or innovation. That is, they recognize innovation and design as essential factors to increase competitiveness and economic performance, as well as to provide quality of life to citizens.
The jury, made up of professionals of recognized prestige in the fields of innovation and design, has decided that the winners in 2017 will be: National Design Award, Professional category, for Manuel Estrada Pérez; National Design Award, Business mode, for Actiu Berbegal and Formas S.A .; National Innovation Award, Innovative Trajectory modality, for Antonio Muñoz Beraza; National Innovation Award, Internationalization modality, for the Spanish Society of Electromedicine and Quality S.A. (SEDECAL).
“This award means a great impulse and motivation for Actiu. The fact that they value effort, investment and our desire to innovate continuously is very important, since design has been key at a strategic level for all people and processes of the company”, said Vicent Berbegal
During his speech, Don Felipe highlighted the Spanish innovation and design as an authentic expression of the creativity and dynamism of a country and as “essential factors for increasing the competitiveness of companies and for improving the quality of life of people“. For its part, the Secretary of State I + D + i, Carmen Vela, stressed in his speech that the winners of these awards “constitute a model for the Spanish business fabric” having demonstrated that with “knowledge and creativity you can go far “, also on the international scene.
The presentation of the National Design Awards was held at the Móstoles Teatro del Bosque, a unique building by Miquel Verdú, on a stage designed by Noviembre Studio with the collaboration of Cosentino and Vinson.
This Wednesday, the 14th, Actiu participates in Madrid in the event “What does a National Design Prize know?“, Organized in collaboration with RED (Meeting of Design Companies), at Roca Gallery Madrid. This evening will bring together Mobles 114, Punt Mobles, Roca, Simon, Marset and Actiu, all winners of the National Design Award, and will link design and gastronomy as benchmarks of the Spain Brand.
Luis Eslava will prepare a tasting of tapas inspired by each of the companies awarded with the National Design Award. The moderator of this table of gastronomic design will be the journalist Andrés Rodríguez, editor of SpainMedia, which brings together the Forbes, T-Magazine, Robb Report, L’Officiel and Tapas (National Gastronomy Award) magazines.
