Case Studies: Axo Light at the Estrel Berlin, Europe's largest hotel and congress centre

With more than 1,100 rooms and suites, a 1,120 m2 arena and a congress centre covering 25,000 m2, the Estrel Berlin is Europe's largest hotel and congress centre.

The centre was expanded in 2015 and Axo Light contributed to the project by supplying 11 ‘Layers’ lamps, which light up one of the halls for rent, providing the perfect setting for any type of event.

Layers is one of the lamps collections by Axo Light that can be customised according to any design requirement. This lamp is also available in an extra-large version, which made it particularly well-suited to Estrel's size and space. The 11 white and multi-shaded grey Layers lamps used for the project come in a range of different shapes and sizes, with lampshades measuring up to 304 cm high and 151 cm wide.

Layers lamps have an internal metal frame covered with a super-smooth fire-retardant pongé fabric.

The Layers installation at the Estrel has a cluster-like composition, but Layers lamps can also be used alone as a ceiling or suspension lamp. The catalogue offers eight different sizes and twelve different colours, equivalent to around one hundred variations, allowing this model to be customised according to all design requirements.
