The Stockholm furniture fair is beginning on Tuesday, February 5 to February 9, and Finnish company Nikary is launching its latest chair, Linea Akademia designed by Kaksikko. The chair is light and comfortable and it can be seen in its stand B05:21

As the name suggests, the Akademia chair was the result of Wesley Walters’ Master's Thesis work at Aalto University, Helsinki.

The young designer, one half of the design duo Kaksikko, together with his partner Salla Luhtasela studied the Finnish chair manufacturing heritage, the Shaker style and Japanese tradition, and combined these various elements to make the Akademia chair.

Nikari is a Finland-based wood design studio and furniture manufacturer. Established in 1967, its first years were marked by close collaboration with masters of Finnish architecture and design, such as Alvar Aalto and Kaj Franck.

Its foundations rest upon the idea of carrying on the traditions of finest Nordic cabinetmaking to bring out the best of wood in contemporary design. Today its values of uncompromising craftsmanship combined with carefully thought-out modern design and sustainable production are stronger than ever.
