Origami, the radiator designed by Alberto Meda for Tubes Radiatori wins the Red Dot Design Award 2017

Origami, designed by Alberto Meda for Tubes Radiatori, has been awarded with the Red Dot Design Award 2017, a prestigious acknowledgement which confirms its innovative design.

Origami has been selected by a jury of 40 international experts that, with criteria such as innovation, functionality, quality and attention to the environment, give the Red Dot quality seal only to those products which stand out for these characteristics. The award ceremony for the Product Design 2017 will be held on Monday 3rd July 2017 in Essen at the Aalto-Theater and the Red Dot Design Museum.

Origami, presented for the first time on the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2016, apart from the Red Dot Product Design Award, was awarded with the Salone del Mobile.Milano Award, the Archiproducts Design Award, the Good Design Award 2016 and the Design Plus Award Powered by ISH 2017.

Extending and folding like a folding screen, enveloping and cosy like an embrace, capable of producing heat for any room thanks to a significant yet discrete presence. This is Origami, designed by Alberto Meda, a high efficiency electric plug & play radiator that liaises with its surroundings, offering the possibility of separating two rooms, of preserving privacy, of enhancing the atmosphere of discretion, increasing the feeling of well-being.

Origami is characterized by dimensional flexibility, thanks to the skilful construction techniques of Tubes along with the use of extruded aluminium technology. The complex engineering behind the product, developed by the company's engineers, makes it possible to produce elements of varying height and, even in the extrusion phase, allows the incorporation of various functions: thanks to the heat generated by convection from the radiator's hollow elements, an increase in thermal capacity and efficiency is ensured.

Origami is available in three versions: free-standing, wall-mounted and totem and each version perfectly fits every room within the home and is characterised by additional accessories.
