On 15th September, the Intergift, Bisutex and MadridJoya trade fairs closed their doors at IFEMA, with international visitors 13% up on last year. This means that the increasingly international scope of this edition has been one of its most outstanding features. 38,591 visitors, 7.7% of the total were from abroad with trade visitors from 78 countries. Most came from Europe, especially from Portugal, Italy, France and Belgium, and in addition, there were more arrivals from the United States, Mexico, Venezuela and China.
IFEMA's commitment to strengthening its Guest Programme is also important in this respect. This year it attracted 370 major buyers from more than 66 countries, making it a platform for promotion and expansion in Spain and abroad.
At home, these fairs welcomed visitors from all the regions of Spain, the most numerous being those from Madrid, Andalusia, Valencia, Catalonia and Castilla y Leon. The number of Spanish visitors from outside the capital was significant, with 61.4% of the total.
Intergift, Bisutex and MadridJoya are organised by IFEMA and filled Halls 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 of Feria de Madrid to offer professionals exhibitors’ latest collections for the Autumn-Winter 2019-20 season, especially aimed at Christmas and Epiphany campaigns, in the decoration, gifts, jewellery and fashion accessories segments, as well as jewellery, watches and related industries.
These fairs were held to coincide with MOMAD Moda en Madrid (Fashion in Madrid) so that as well as generating important synergies, together they formed a major global event for trends, fashion and consumer goods.
Thousands of Decoration and Gift Products at INTERGIFT
Intergift, the International Gift and Decoration Exhibition, considered the world's leading event for Spanish decoration and gifts, hosted 836 companies and brands from 30 countries in its different gift, home and interior design sectors: Alta Decoración, Deco, Neo, Textil de Hogar, Regalomanía and Bazar.
Once again, Espacio en Obras (space under construction) was one of the most popular initiatives. Promoted by the Consejo General de Colegios Oficiales de Decoradores y Diseñadores de Interior (General Council of Official Schools of Interior Decorators and Designers), it was attended by the renowned interior designer Rosa Sánchez
BISUTEX, Fashion and Creativity
The world of fashion jewellery and accessories came together atBisutex, the International Exhibition for Fashion Jewellery and Accessories, where 580 companies and brandsfrom 38 countries presented their new collections to retailers and owners of fashion stores and distribution chains from all over the world.
The fair took place in a context of growing dynamism and with a good professional atmosphere, to show to attendees the new collections aimed at the Christmas campaign. In addition to thousands of offerings in costume jewellery, numerous lines of fashion watches, sunglasses, handbags, belts, hair ornaments, handkerchiefs, hats. As is now usual, the leather goods and travel equipment sector was also widely represented.
MadridJoya, a Strategic Event for Renewing Shop Window Displays
The International Fair for Urban Jewellery and Watches hosted the latest novelties in high-quality jewellery, casual and fashion pieces, watches and silver. This leading event for jewellery was complemented by the offerings from related industries. All this together with the participation of 266 companies and brands from 17 countries, which provided trade visitors a unique opportunity to find out about the latest market trends and a space to comfortably meet with existing and new suppliers.
The success of the 30 sessions at Speaker's Corner, which brought together more than 600 attendees, deserves a special mention. These workshops provided trade visitors with interesting guidelines and tools to stay up to date with trends, consumer habits, and other essential information to boost the trade activity of their businesses.
It has become a custom at these three September shows to pay particular tribute to a number of establishments in recognition of the loyalty of trade visitors and, at the same time, express how much they value the professional careers of the businesses in order to boost their trade. The loyalty and professional work of the companies Altillo Joyeros de Arahal (Seville) and Josephine (San Sebastian) were also recognised as regular visitors to the MadridJoya and Bisutex fairs.
In addition to that tribute, during the After Fair party, there wasalso the “Gift of the Year” awards ceremony, organized by the Regalo Fama (Gift Fame) Association.This year it highlighted the offerings by Mapibera in the Lighting category, Tropecientos/Lomography in Packaging, Tescoma in Christmas items,EqHo Equipa tu Hogar XXI, S.L. in Designer Furniture, InnovaGoods in Kitchen Accessories, and InnovaGoods in ¡Lo Quiero! (I Want That!).
