Seen at Maison&Objet Paris: Panama Collection by Edeestudio for Wewood, the noble wood is combined to achieve supreme elegance

When Panamá sideboard and media unit were designed by Edeestudio for the portuguese company WEWOOD , designers looked for a warm and simple concept in its forms. The style of the 50's is present in the Panamá design, at that time the functionality of the pieces was very important and they wanted to capture it in this collection. The use of noble wood such as walnut or oak, combined with marble and iron lacquered in black have been essential to achieve elegance in all the elements.

The designers wanted to give importance to the wood work, so for the design of the door handle, they were inspires by the unique pointed end shape from the freighter ships. Also, they liked the hull profile of these boats to be able to use it as a reference for the design of the structure. A light visual aspect but with enough consistency to support the weight of the furniture. The tubular legs with curves “L”; Shape were mounted parallel to the metal structure, reminding us of the channel where these boats sail. Hence, the collection is called Panamá.
