Generating business and fostering the culture of design are the pillars that support every edition of Casa Brasil, organized by Sindmóveis. Among the special projects that the fair organizes this year, highlights confirmed lectures by Brazilian Zanini de Zanine and Marcelo Ferraz, Dutch Bertjan Pot and Italian Paolo Ulian. Boldness, contemporaneity and creativity are the themes of the event, which will be held on August 14 and 15 during Casa Brasil 2013.

Carioca Zanini de Zanine is coming to Bento Gonçalves to talk about the importance of contemporary design for the furniture industry. Known for his boldness when it comes to shapes and materials, Zanini is currently the Brazilian designer with the greatest international recognition. He designs products for important foreign brands, including Italian Cappellini, one of the top five furniture companies in the world. Through his studio, Zanini will also present some of his pieces at Casa Brasil.

Visitors to Casa Brasil will have the opportunity to get to know a little about the work developed by architect Marcelo Ferraz, whose projects include Museu Rodin in Salvador, Barrio Amarelo, in Berlin, and Museu do Pão in Ilópolis, in Rio Grande do Sul. In 2002, Marcelo collaborated with the biggest name in the national architecture, Oscar Niemeyer. The fair also receives Italian designer Paolo Ulian, known worldwide for works that combine design and cuisine, such as a cookie that fits onto your finger to be eaten with milk spread, and “Food Card” - an edible postcard (which can be bread or some liquid from around the world). In 2000, he participated in the Salone Satellite, where he won first prize in the Report Design Award.
