Remaining true to their spirit of research regarding colour, the Dutch studio Raw Color presents its first collaboration with nanimarquina. Blend plays with the visual perception of colours.
Solid surfaces interact with surfaces that are constructed from lines. These duo toned lines merge into the viewer's eye to create new colours. Due to this graphic system a multitude of subtle shades are rendered departing from 5 different yarns.
Blend applies the basic rules of colour theory, with three available models in which hue, luminosity, and saturation vary. A slim, hand-woven Kilim, this original rug from Pakistan will delight those passionate about colour. Raw Color accompanies nanimarquina discovering current and contemporary colour territories.
“We searched for a comprehensive approach during the design process. Finding the essence, transforming the concept into a simple, communicative and tactile solution is our goal in every project. The results can be considered as ‘Soft systems’, an important element in our work. These systems are clearly defined by the rules but offer enough freedom to keep them dynamic,” comments designers Raw Color (Daniera ter Haar and Christoph Brach).
