Valentina Space, designed by
Alejandra Gandía-Blasco for
GAN, is a collection inspired by ‘
haute couture’ dress embroidery that recalls the classical high fashion patterns featuring the traditional stitch-bonding technique, applied here to a rug handmade by crafts men and women.
The
VALENTINA SPACE collection features a handmade rug with rounded edges and ornamental metal work motif, an alternative to the typical rectangular rug, lending crimson motifs, or natural beige tones to the spaces where it’s featured.
The chair consists of an inclined three-dimensional version of the rug: a thermo-lacquered steel frame supports the cushions, one flat and the other inclined upholstered with removable covers that continue the idea of embroidered seams. The two pieces can be combined or equally can be used separately. Strip the cushions from the metal frame and use them on the carpet or simply as an accessory for any interior space.
The rug dimensions are 170 x 260cm while the chair measures 75 x 95 x 70cm (height), the colour options are beige and crimson. Source: GAN
