Room Mate Hotels, the international chain founded by the Spanish revolutionary entrepreneur Kike Sarasola, keeps growing with the inauguration of its first hotel in France, Room Mate Alain. With this opening, the company continues with its ambitious expansion plan. To the 25-existing hotels, the chain will add 11 new signed projects, doubling its size from 1,800 to 3,600 rooms in the next 18 months.
Located inone of the most elegant Parisian neighborhoods, between La Défense, Porte Maillot, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées, Room Mate Alain, created by the renowned interior designer Lorenzo Castillo, plans to be one of the chain's reference hotels in Europe.
Room Mate Hotels is an innovative company which is based on the idea that the best way of travelling is by visiting friends all around the world. Every Room Mate hotel features a name, acity center location, the best design and a completely different personality adapted to the city and neighborhood where it'slocated. In this case, Alain is a bohemian, intellectual, artistic and curious, the perfect travelling companion to discover the City of Lights.
Room Mate Alain also has a cocktail bar on its ground floor, Le Bar d’Alain. It will be open from 5:30 pm to 1:30 am and will offer a wide range of the most exclusive wines, champagnes, cocktails and delicious dishes, such as caviar & blinis or poultry risotto. Aside from the best design and its unique location, Room Mate Alain has a fitness center and a fully-equipped Spa dedicated to well-being which includes a hammam and a complete treatment menu available upon request.
In the words of Kike Sarasola, Room Mate Hotel's President and Founder: “I am especially happy with our arrival in Paris. Room Mate Alain is the first of many hotels we’ll have in France, which is a key market for us and a country I love. Alain is proof of our international expansion plan with which we will be doubling the size of the company in the next months”.
The interior designer and antique expert Lorenzo Castillo has created an elegant ambience that focuses on details in an spectacular building whose façade has been preserved entirely.
“It's always a pleasure to work for Kike Sarasola. He trusts me and allows me to design freely and this is the only possible way to create art.The only thing he asked me to do was to give this hotel the allure of the greatParisian hotels in the 1920's”, explains Lorenzo Castillo.
Castillo was inspired by the story of Coco Chanel, who spent the last years of her life living in a hotel in Paris. The select ambience, full of Chinese panels, and the colors that dominate in Le Bar d’Alain are Chanel's characteristic pink, black and gold.
Room Mate Alain's decoration is intended to take us back to the Golden age of luxury hotels, to the Paris of Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald that was so well reproduced in Woody Allen's “Midnight in Paris”. Because of its location, it deserved a sophisticated decoration, full of rich textures -like velvets and silks- and a very warm and soft lighting.photo : Ludo MAGNOUX / Martin MENDEZ © 2018 / HEROES AGENCY
The use of very high-quality antiques has been essential to provide the hotel's decoration with a certain status. A great Dutch lamp from the 17th Century welcomes guests at the reception; Louis XV wall lamps light the corridors, magnificent print collections of French kings decorate the walls and rich Napoleon III and Louis XV chairs, upholstered in silver embroidered velvet, will make the travelers feel at home.
Every traveler hosted in Room Mate Alain will be able to enjoy the most innovative services offered by Room Mate Hotels such as breakfast until noon and WiMate, which means free Wi-Fi not just in the hotel but in the entire city.
