The results for Intergift, Bisutex and MadridJoya show the recovery in the market. International visitors grew by 12.91%

Intergift, Bisutex and MadridJoya exhibitions held in the IFEMA exhibition halls closed their doors on 5 February. For five days they had hosted the largest exhibition of the latest fashion trends in the gift, decoration, costume jewellery, fashion accessories, jewellery and watches sectors, including offerings from 1,566 companies and brands from 25 countries.

The event was particularly notable for the wider sectoral representation, increased content and greater number of activities, as well as the professional nature of the attendees and growth by 2.15% in the number of visitors. There was an influx of 41,935 professionals from 75 countries providing an atmosphere of dynamism that confirmed the continuing revival of the market.

The number of international visitors also increased, by 12.91%, with a strong presence fromprofessionalsfrom Portugal, France, Italy and Morocco. The results of IFEMA'sInternational and National Guests Programme were also noteworthy in this aspect, as was the presence of 390 Major Buyers.

50 sessions and practical workshops with 1075 participants

There were also plenty of participants attending the 50 sessions held at the Intergift and MadridJoyaSpeakers’ Corner areas, where various presentations, seminars and workshops were held that were attended by a total of 1,075 attendees.The Intergift Speakers’ Corner stood out at this year's event due to the participation of a number of renowned interior designers in sessions that were specially designed to show the value of decoration in various fields, and where success stories and new trends were discussed. The sessions also included a series of talks on textile design, two round tables on trends in decoration and Decoration 3.0, as well as practical and training workshops on creative packaging and floral displays.

Intergift's activities also included the holding of the Hotels & Retail Design Seminar, which was attended by renowned interior designers from firms such as: BanúsArquitectura, TBC Interiorismo, ESM Interiorismo, Andrea Muñoz Diseño, Arquizano, Nan Arquitectos and Sara Folch Interior Design Studio.

Informative sessions were also offered at the MadridJoya Speakers’ Corner, which included various workshops on recognition of jewels and watchmaking as well as several seminars on pricing, technical marketing, online trading, and the world of the influencers and social networks, among many others.

Stellar presence in the world of interior design at Intergift

As regards the profile of visitors to this year's Intergift, a significant growth was noted in the attendance of decorators, interior designers and architects, sectors which made up around 15% of the total number of visitors to the Hall. This growth coincides with the extraordinary participation of 120 companies and leading brands in textile design, wallpapers and wall coverings, which for the first time made it the largest and most complete textile design event in our country. This year's event also offered an increased number of innovations in decoration, furniture and accessories for the residential and contract sectors.

The staging of the Textile Designers section also included a brand newTrend Zone, organised in collaboration with Interiores magazine, based on the ideas and creativity of the styling specialist Paloma Pacheco Turnes.

Other equally important professionals visiting Intergift came from sectors such as hospitality, decoration shops, concept stores and garden centres, which together made up around 31% of the visitors.

On the other hand, another significant focus of attention in the exhibition halls containing the latest in youth gifts, the world of licences and the multiproduct sector, amongst others, wasthe presenceof department stores and shops specialising in gifts, toys, books and hardware as well as online shops and wholesalers, which made up around 54% of the total.

On this occasion, Intergift presented the offerings of 837 companies and brands from 17 countries.

Strong presence of specialist businesses at Bisutex

The predominant types of visitors to Bisutex were professionals from shops specialising in jewellery and fashion accessories, which made up around 22% of the total, followed in order by shops specialising in clothing, gifts, designer products, jewellery and department stores, among others.

This year's event filled Hall 8 at the IFEMA Exhibition Centre with 529 companies and brands and all the innovations and trends in jewellery and accessories for spring-summer 2017.

Greater presence of professionals from the watch sector and online shops at MadridJoya

The jewellery sector also deployed its best weapons at MadridJoya, with hundreds of innovative collections of jewellery, FMCG, silver and watches, as well as services and solutions from related industries, which included179 companies and brands from 10 countries.

The show brought together top professionals, particularly from specialist jewellery businesses, which represented more than 22% of attendees, as well as department stores, designers and manufacturers. The data also points to a significant growth in the presence of professionals from the world of watches and online shops, which made up 13% of visitors to MadridJoya.
