Danish company Troldtekt, presents the third biennial concept competition for international students of design & architecture, with a prize of 5.000 euros. The Award encourages students to explore Troldtekt acoustic panels and find new uses for them that are not only creative but also possible to realise in practice. Deadline for submissions April 1, 2014.

The project can describe the proposal from small scale to large scale. The competition is open - the only condition is that Troldtekt is incorporated in a creative and realistic way. In other words, participants can choose to impose colours, shapes, their imagination or something completely different on the Troldtekt products. The assignment is a concept competition and is therefore not restricted by the cost of realising the proposal in practice.

The Award is global and open to any registered student of design & architecture. The winner wins a prize of 5,000 Euro.

The jury, comprising among others internationally renowned architects will award a winner. The deadline for registering for the International Troldtekt Award is the 1st of April 2014. The deadline for submitting a project is the 30 April 2014

Product

Troldtekt acoustic ceiling and wall panels are made from 100% natural materials; wood and cement. The structure of Troldtekt panels provides a basis for excellent sound absorption, and by choosing a Troldtekt ceiling you will, therefore, reduce noise and provide optimal room acoustics.

Good acoustics, fire safety, sustainability & indoor climate, simple installation, high durability as well as solutions are some of the Troldtekt product properties. Troldtekt is available in a high number of combinations that vary according to surface structure, edge, installation system, colour, dimension and thickness.

Troldteckt Award 2012

The winner of the Troldtekt Award 2012 was Matthias Kisch from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His winning entry featured a floating sculptural design - or acoustic cloud - suspended above a table.

The standard of the proposals was so high that the judges’ committee also awarded a Special Prize to Amy Linford from Newcastle University in the UK.
