Twenty years after its launch, Verzelloni is reissuing Divanitas - a seating collection distinguished by its curvilinear, sober and northern European design. The collection was designed by Studio Lievore Altherr Molina in 1996, at which time it was very much appreciated for its essential lines and cutting edge look that would become mainstream in the following years.
Divanitas did not - and does not today - follow fashion nor does it chase after ever-changing styles. Instead, it represents Verzelloni's natural attitude when including a new collection in the company’ s catalogue.
Says Alberto Lievore: “Divanitas sofa has not been reissued by Verzelloni to pursue a fashion, it would make no sense; it is proposed to pursue immutable and universal values, such as comfort, balance of design and the enthusiasm in choosing to retake something from the past; more than a reissue, a sort of continuity with Verzelloni history, because every choice is perfectly in keeping with its own DNA.”
Compared to the first release, the new Divanitas, while retaining the features of the original, has a different ratio between the proportions of the seat and back, including improved comfort and new legs finishes. According to the chosen fabric upholstery, the cover can be delivered in two different finishes: single lapped seam or with Punto Cavallo. Punto Cavallo is a decorative stitching available in 11 colours that can be matched as desired with the fabric.
Available in three sofas lengths, plus armchair and ottoman, it can fit any type of environment, from the house to contract projects such as lounge areas of hotels, libraries, public spaces, waiting rooms, etc.
Covers are completely and easily removable.
