Linear, sober and elegant are the adjectives that best describe the ORYZA rugs, designed by Odosdesign for GAN, the indoor brand belonging to GANDIABLASCO.
The collection is inspired by the graphic drawings that are created naturally by rice paddies and fields for cereal growing in the landscape as seen from the sky. The idea for the name of the collection came from that unique perspective, “Oryza” being the plant which produces rice seed.
“This rug is like the view that one gets from an aeroplane window when you take off looking for a new experience and you see how the terra firma looks divided into smaller and smaller squares, organised and chaotic at the same time. That gets converted into lines that criss-cross and take shape through the weave of the wool,” explains Maria Mengual of Odosdesign.
A collection that is remarkable for its peculiar weaving technique using thread over felt: a combination of textures and colours that lends a unique and original aspect, that combines well with any type of ambience.
