With the aim of pursuing innovation along the well-beaten track of tradition, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna brings to the 2016 International Salone del Mobile the fruits of its current collaboration with Swedish duo Front and its new and exclusive partnership with Nathan Yong.
Once again in 2016, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna - part of a great European transformation which brings together tradition and innovation - renews its collaboration with the world of project design and confirms its vocation for project research, fil rouge between its past and its future.
FURIA ROCKING HORSE - designed by Front
The Furia rocking horse is a traditional piece with a contemporary twist and ironic vibe. Gebrüder Thonet Vienna's stylistic features meet the delicate elegance of Front, which have already designed several successful pieces for the brand.
MAJORDOMO - designed by Nathan Yong
For his first collaboration with GTV, Singapore designer Nathan Yong brings his clean, minimalist and slightly-Eastern style to Majordomo, a multi-functional piece designed for the bedroom, but suitable even for refined contract spaces. The name of the piece means ‘butler’ and it has in fact been designed to be at your service: Majordomo is a coat hanger which also functions as a handy clothes and footwear stand and not only that: one can even lean on it to put on shoes more easily.
The intrinsic material and immaterial value of the Gebrüder Thonet Vienna collection is expressed in the Wiener GTV Design logo carved onto a coin which features, on each piece, a precious detail that confirms its authenticity.
