Actiu Next, the technological solution that combines innovative furniture with intelligent sensors was one of Actiu‘s highlights at the Orgatec fair. Intelligent furniture, known as Smart Furniture within the industry, is making inroads for both the end user experience as well as in the global management of workspaces.
This work in progress, the result of Actiu's continuous innovation, was exhibited at Orgatec using chairs and tables equipped with smart IoT sensors - connected to the Internet and with information updated in the cloud. Taking advantage of the extensive possibilities offered by the company's products, Actiu Next enables data to be monitored and collected anonymously on the condition of the workspace and how it is being used, promoting the adoption of healthy habits. Specifically, the implementation of this technology in furniture provides information to the user on factors that could affect him/her, such as posture, air quality, temperature, humidity, lighting and noise levels.
Actiu Next fits in perfectly with Actiu's commitment, as it speaks directly to the user, about his/her well-being and how he/she can improve the use of furniture in order to be able to carry out his/her job in a more comfortable and optimal way, analysing not only the furniture, but the environment too. However, it does not only focus on the individual use of each operational position. Combining technology and home automation, Actiu Next is a practical and advanced tool for the integral management of spaces by the organizations themselves as well as facility managers, as it provides them with quantifiable data on the way and level of use of certain areas, providing very valuable data to make changes with the objective of improving the productivity and usability of spaces.
The company's commitment to innovation and advanced technologies also includes a new virtual reality commercial tool called Actiu 360º Virtual Tour, which allows the user to visualize the future work spaces in an immersive and interactive way. A solution that enriches decision making and the user experience and allows the user to imagine a space in a much more specific and visual way.
Actiu Next and Actiu 360º Virtual Tour are part of the Cool Working by Actiu accompaniment process, developed together with the Biomechanics Institute of Valencia (IBV) that managed to combine design, ergonomics and technology to create solutions for each person and each work style, principles shared by the product lines that Actiu presented at Orgatec.
Actiu also introduced Karbon, the result of productive innovation, a carbon fibre chair that is a new paradigm in the company's productive process. A piece with a timeless design which is functional and has an exclusive essence, the design thereof being a productive challenge for Actiu and its designers, ITEMdesignworks. A limited production, collector's piece which is ultralight, manufactured by hand and whose organic volumes take the structure itself to the limit, although not its constitution, which is highly resistant and durable. A piece that breathes the essence of Actiu by bringing design, innovation, technology and functionality into an exclusive and different piece.
As well as Karbon, the following ranges were also introduced in Germany; Talent, a compact table that offers flexibility in working and training spaces, that can be folded, lifted, moved and stacked quickly, efficiently and without the need of an electrical connection; Whass, a super-stackable, versatile and wide ranged chair that, thanks to its design, can fit into a variety of different spaces; Noom, the new soft seating system that spruces up meeting and socialisation areas in a personalised way, using an upholstery that combines a tailored design and 3D technology; and Trim, the latest task chair that can be adjusted to any person in an ergonomic way with maximum comfort.
