These three trade fairs, INTERGIFT, BISUTEX and MADRIDJOYA, organised by IFEMA from 7th to 11th September, received 42,354 professional visitors from 75 countries and recorded an 18.9% increase in the number of international buyers present.
Of particular note in the initial assessment of results is the 18.9% increase in international visits, especially among buyers from Portugal, France, Italy, Morocco and the United States, continuing the trend shown in the last few events, in terms of the higher qualification and purchasing power of the attending professionals.
The many offerings and innovations presented by the 1,576 companies and brands gathered for the three fairs, the excellent presentation and, in the case of MadridJoya, the complete renovation of the stands and staging in Hall 10, as well as several activities which were focused, among other things, on emphasising the role of designers, interior designers, etc., or, in the case of Intergift, on highlighting the importance of flowers and plants in the decoration, all served to offer up a highly varied event with plenty of appeal for the different professional groups at whom these three fairs are aimed.
“Espacio en Obras”
The decoration on show, one of the highlights of Intergift, was complemented by the development of initiatives such as “Espacio en Obras”, which this year featured the designer Belén Sueiro, who recreated a mountain retreat in the heart of Hall 3 with all kinds of furniture and elements from participating exhibitors at the fair, including Alfombras Yara; Amadeus; Añil Diseño; Aromas del Campo; Artesanía San José; Brucs; Carving; Cerabella; Corma; Dosfer; Fisanhome; Gancedo; Garpe; Guadarte; Hidalgo Import; Innova Jardín; Intertrade; Ixia Regal/Denzo; Lámparas Silvio/Fokobu; N&V Vintage; Sol y Luna; Taller de las Indias; Vical Home, and VP Ourense.
The space featured an external section with a vertical garden and an interior section with a small reading area, including different environments with a bar, a fireplace, a large dining space, and a seating area with an office. The coexistence in the decorative objects made of leather, natural stone and iron elements, along with other materials such as wicker, glass, mirrors and candles, provided an elegant, warm, comfortable mountain retreat with a sophisticated and glamorous air. A space, in the words of Belén Sueiro, “that invites you to stay”.
Speaker´s Corner at Intergift
A resounding success in terms of turnout, there were also 23 workshops and talks at Speaker's Corner in Intergift, which brought together 641 attendees, and provided them with some tips and tools to keep up with the latest trends, consumption patterns, and other essential information to promote their businesses. Among many other things showcased, there were exhibitions featuring flowers and plants as a trend in residential and hospitality decoration, one of the main topics of the Fair, and talks about online marketing and strategy, such as the one organised by the Spanish Postal Service, Correos (this edition's sponsor), on “E-Commerce and subsequent distribution”.
Other activities and a lively AfterFair event with acknowledgements and awards
Some of the highlights among the many activities of interest in Intergift this year include the Hotels & Retail Design day event on Commercial and Hotel Interior Design, organised by Grupo Vía, which offered exhibitors a forum in which to meet renowned interior designers from the firms ILMIODESIGN, ZOOCO STUDIO, AXIOMA, DSIGNIO and ALTA 3 ARQUITECTOS, and the Awards for the best stands at INTERGIFT from the General Council of Associations of Decorators and Interior Designers, CGCODDI, to the companies Vical Home, for the use of colour and space distribution; Brucs, for the resolution of volumes and the organisation of the space for perfect circulation, and Decorarte, for achieving a shop window effect.
Furthermore, during the celebration of a lively AfterFair event, sponsored by Correos and with the collaboration of Route 77 (Palacio de Hielo), IFEMA rewarded the loyalty of three long-standing trade visitors to the Intergift, Bisutex and MadridJoya fairs, with special recognition for their careers and the efforts made to drive their businesses forward. The establishments honoured here were Arje Decoración, from Sevilla; Joyería Purriños, from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and B&TWINS from Valencia, specialising in jewellery and accessories.
The party was also the setting for the awards given by the Asociación Regalo Fama for “Best Gift of the Year”, which went to the products “The Greatest Candle In the World” from the company Tropecientosmil; “Briefcase with compartments in which to save souvenirs from a baby's birth” from Cades; “SeatSleepers” from Mapibéria F&B; “Hipster Santa Claus by AMIT SHIMONY” from Fisura; “Demijohn with avant-garde design” from Mediterránea Lifestyle and “2-in-1 wine and champagne conserver” from Vin Bouquet.
MadridJoya and Bisutex
Fashion and trends for the upcoming autumn/winter season occupied Halls 8 and 10 at IFEMA, in which the Bisutex and MadridJoya trade fairs were held simultaneously. Both featured spaces dedicated to young companies and entrepreneurs in the MINIS stand area, which again surprised everyone with their fresh and innovative ideas.
Bisutex also featured new developments in costume jewellery and accessories from 467 companies, including the leading manufacturers and designers from the sector, and the fashion and brand space, ARCHI. This offering, under the slogan “goodbye to discretion”, previewed trends filled with colour and voluminous pieces for next season.
Jewellery, watchmaking, silverware and solutions and services from related industries, had their main sales showcase at MadridJoya, which saw the participation of 286 companies and brands with a greater presence by leading companies from the watch industry.
MadridJoya and Bisutex offered a joint programme of activities at Speaker's Corner in Hall 10, with 21 workshops and lectures that attracted 372 attendees. Several watchmaking masterclasses organised by Comercial Kirman and the Jewellers Guild of Madrid, as well as multiple themes focused the importance of fashion in these sectors, were the major highlights of this edition.
Intergift, MadridJoya and Bisutex, which took place practically at the same time as the Fashion and Footwear Fairs MOMAD Metropolis and MOMAD Shoes, with the use of the 12 Halls at Feria de Madrid and the participation of 3,068 companies and brands, will be holding their next edition on 1st to 5th February 2017, once again sharing dates with MOMAD Metropolis (3rd to 5th February).
