Gidlööf Originals, a furniture producing company born recently in Barcelona, present at Stockholm Furniture Fair

Gidlööf Originals is a small furniture producing and design company created in 2012 by Costacalsamiglia, an architecture studio from Barcelona (Spain). It's a new project that opts for warm shapes and natural materials in the production of all of their pieces. It's new collection can be seen at Stockholm Furniture Fair.

Gidlööf Originals was born following the path of Gidlööf, a shop with original Scandinavian furniture from the 40's, 50's and 60's opened in may 2011 by architect Guim Costa and her partner Sofia Gidlööf in Barcelona.

The firm proposes living indoors with the comfort and warmth of their pieces. They work with natural materials like thick chestnut wood, black iron, leather, cotton and brass. They use a finishing touch of water and wax-based paint so that the materials’ essence is transmitted in a natural way. Architect Guim Costa has designed all the pieces of the Gidlööf Originals Collection.

The process of production of the pieces is halfway between handmade and mechanized, making sure that all the materials used are eco-friendly. The products of this small producing company aim to communicate present and future values: sustainability, efficiency and quality. Each piece is unique: all pieces are numbered and engraved with the Gidlööf Originals stamp.

The first designs of the firm were: the Arne armchair (selected as one of the finalists of the Delta 2012 Awards), the Norensen armchair and the small table Rits.

In the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, Gidlööf Originals presents for the first time their designs for 2013: the Emmsen trolley, the Helenbro lamp and Tiagosen, a small support piece for mobile phones.

The sales circulation of Gidlööf Originals products is done through their own showroom in the Gidlööf store in Barcelona and through the means of their own website, which offers product display and direct sales, as well as through the social media.
