During Milan Design Week 2018, Baleri Italia presented new products with strong, contemporary personalities that stem from the first stage of the brand relaunch under the art direction of Aldo Parisotto from P+F Architetti. They stay true to the company's DNA and the subtle irony for which its products have always been renowned, while breaking new ground with cutting-edge looks, functionality and versatility, as well as the exceptional quality of the materials and manufacturing.
International names and young designers have been asked to play their part in the development of the new collection with a series of contributions that all fuse exactitude and a refined sense of irony. The vision was to re-establish the brand on the contemporary scene. With Aldo Parisotto coordinating the whole process, each of the designers presented their own, individual take on the identity of the storied brand.
Denis Santachiara designed Chromosome X & Chromosome Y, an unprecedented pair of substantial padded seats stemming from the desire to put forward new ways of making a mark on settings. The distinctive X and Y shapes of the informal seats provide the scope to create a number of dynamic compositions because they can be arranged in any way and any location, thus making them free chromosomes that are capable of generating the new DNA of contemporary living.
