The International NYOVA Design Competition for Young Talents is open to people with imagination and brilliant ideas and who want to see their dreams come true. In its 2nd edition, the People's Choice Award went to Antón García & Deyanira Carreón for their auxiliary table Tigouh.
TIGOUH is an auxiliary table. It makes reference to Mid-century design and the attempt to offer increased comfort to the user experience. The shape of the table top is inspired by the Japanese Tigo cookies. The centre of the table is perforated, leaving an opening to insert a ceramic complement that may serve as either a flowerpot or a receptacle. The table is supported by sleek, copper-coloured stainless steel legs that offer great elegance and lightness. It is an iconic piece that would perfectly fit into a home or cafeteria.
The 2nd Nyova Design Competition will have three prizes from the jury, one people's design prize, and the possibility of runner-up prizes according to the quality of the projects presented. The First Prize awarded by the Jury will be for €3,000; the Second Prize will be for €1,500; and the Third Prize will be for €700. The People's Design Prize that obtains most “Likes” on the official Nyova website will receive €300.
