Jasper Morrison / Thursday, February 15 - 12.00 to 1.30 p.m.
Jasper set up his Office for Design in London in 1986. He became a designer with two installations: Reuters News Center in Documenta 8, in Kassel (Germany); and Some New Items for the Home Part I, at the DAAD Gallery in Berlin. His first designs were produced by Aram and SPC in London, Neotu in Paris, FSB in Germany and Cappellini in Italy. IN 1989, he began his collaboration with Vitra with the exhibition of Some New Items for the Home Part II, at the Milan Furniture Fair.
Rossana Orlandi / Thursday, February 15 - 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
After working for more than 20 years in the world of fashion as a consultant for firms such as Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan, and for the family company, in 2002 Rossana Orlandi decided to continue her passion for design as a private collector. Shee opened her own gallery, a platform where she exhibits her particular idea of design and lifestyle. She has worked as a curator of numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, and has collaborated with sophisticated brands of fashion, luxury products and lifestyle. Her incessant search around the world has made her one of the most influential people when it comes to discovering young design talents.
Abbott Miller / Friday, February 16 - 12.00 to 1.30 p.m.
Prior to joining the New York Pentagram office as a partner in 1999, Abbott Miller founded Design/Writing/Research, a multidisciplinary study and pioneer in the concept of “author's design“. Miller has created identities, exhibitions, books and websites for clients such as the Guggenheim Museum (NY), the Barnes Foundation, the Art Institute of Chicago, the MoMA, Sotheby's, the Nature Conservancy, Vitra and Baltimore Center Stage. He has designed wallpaper for Knoll and prints for Formica. Since 1997, as editor and designer of 2wice, he has directed a line of performative works and visual art, published on paper and digital support, which have been awarded for their renovating nature of the platforms for dance.
Fernando Gutiérrez / Wednesday February 14 - 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Fernando has worked at CDT Design (London 1986-92), Summa (1990-91) and was co-founder of Gráfica along with Pablo Martín (Barcelona 1993-00). In 2000, he left the company to partner with Pentagram (London 2000-06), before settling on his own at Studio Fernando Gutiérrez, with projects in London, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome and Treviso, for clients such as El País newspaper. , Matador Arts Magazine, Colors Magazine, Prado Museum, Tate Modern, V & A and The Design Museum.
Luz González Camino / Wednesday February 14 - 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Luz González Camino has been working for years in jewelry, and, with her dedication and talent, has made her jewelry designs permanently displayed in the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Paris or the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. Her pieces have been sold at Bergdorf Goodman stores in New York for 15 years and her name appears in books such as 21st Century Jewelery Designers or Women Jewlery Designers, among many others. For her designs she uses rare materials and precious stones, mixing them regardless of the value of them, only pursuing them to be a true reflection of her ideas and designs.
