The Malaga company has been successful with its project of the Palocortado restaurant, within the category of interior architecture
Palocortado has been one of the last projects carried out by the creative studio Paco Lago Interiorismo. The studio, encouraged by the change of mentality of the local businessman, increasingly aware of the added value of interior design for any business, faced the challenge posed by Luis Ballesteros, owner of Palocortado, to return the restaurant to the the first line of the hostelry industry in Malaga after a successful first stage almost 20 years ago.
Located at the foot of Malaga's Cathedral, the declaration of intentions of the project is clear as soon as you enter: an open kitchen, fully integrated and converted into the heart of the restaurant, encouraging the client to participate in the experience of entering Palocortado through its three spaces. From its unique wooden bar where the diner can enjoy a tapas bar nothing conventional, to the sensation of acoustic comfort that most stores in the sector lack, the whole set gives off a cosmopolitan air that nevertheless does not mask a classic kitchen , based on the product, and essence of the brand.
Everything impresses on a first visit: the floor that envelops the entire space with warmth, the handmade luminaire made with acid glass loupes on a copper structure, the different coatings and textures giving each corner of its own personality, the iron cupboards and ‘deployeé’ steel on the bar, the exclusive fish boxes made of marble or comfortable furniture that invites you never to get up from the table.
The hostelry industry is a complicated and changing world where too many variables come into play to make a restaurant a successful business. Some are key, such as the correct lighting, the acoustic comfort of the space, the textures and materials to be used, the choice and distribution of the appropriate furniture or the precise graphic that defines the business idea and they pay special attention. Paco Lago Interiorismo pay special attention to this when facing the challenge of a new project.
Paco Lago began his professional career 25 years ago. Any assignment that supposes a challenge will always be a priority for the study, almost converted into a family, where commitment, enthusiasm, music, good food or traveling in group make up the non-negotiable DNA of the study.
