Zaragoza Furniture Fair 2018: Discover the three best designs awarded during the sixth edition

Furniture Fair is evolving and part of this evolution comes hand in hand with innovation and design. Thus, in this sixth edition, ZFF takes another step forward in its commitment to the furniture sector and organizes the first edition of the Furniture Design Competition.

The sixth ediction of Zaragoza Furniture Fair 2018 will take place from January 24 to 27 and will have great news to make more attractive the visit to professionals. In its commitment to internationalization and innovation, the show recognizes the effort and know-how of four companies: three Spanish and one Portuguese

The jury of these awards has valued the work dedicated by these businesses to encourage the culture of design and innovation. In addition to these factors, the jury has assessed aspects such as environmental, safety and technologically advanced, while highlighting the viability of these products in the market.

The jury of this first edition is chaired by the fashion illustrator Arturo Elena Galindo, and has been composed by the director of the School of Design of Aragon, Luisa Pellegero Usón, the dean-president of the Official College of Architects of Aragon, Ricardo Marco Fraile, the coordinator of the Degree in Engineering in Industrial Design and Product Development of the University of Zaragoza, Ignacio López Forniés, and the president of the Official School of Interior Decorators and Designers of Aragón, Félix Bernal Juan, who acted as secretary.

The awards, by categories, are the following:

In the category “Innovative Furniture” Project

• Gold ZFF Award to GUALTORRES - INDÚSTRIA E DESIGN DE MOBILIÁRIO, LDA for KANIV, a desk that combines different shapes and finishes, with the possibility of turning the top part and with great storage capacity.

In the category “Innovation for Rest” Project

• Gold ZFF Award to SOMMA CONFORT, S.L. for CONFORTPLUS, an ergonomically designed mattress and technologically advanced materials, adapting to different types of users.

• Silver ZFF Award to GOMARCO DESCANSO, S.L.U. for the product UNICBED, design and development of body scanner for the realization of a mattress adapted to the measure of the consumer, using the “Nucol” system of viscoelastic springs.

• Bronze ZFF Award to INDUSTRIAS RELAX, S.L. for the product TECNUM, HR plus bagged spring fused in only one and forming an internal wave system that originates seven different rest areas.
