The Biennale Chair, designed by architect Josep Ferrando and produced by Figueras, has been awarded the Opinion prize of the prestigious Delta Awards. The Opinion Award is given by means of the vote of all the finalists exhibition visitors.
The Biennale chair is a modular and flexible chair made of a single material, which is warm and comfortable. Created in wood and manufactured industrially based on artisanal processes, the chair combines experience and energy efficiency to produce a flexible, personal system that meets the needs of not only religious settings, but also many other possible collective uses.The Delta Awards are given biennially in recognition to industrial designers and companies. The Delta Awards aim to celebrate excellence in design and emphasize its importance as a prime tool for creating wealth in an industrial economy, as well as highlighting its role as an expression of our culture. Since 2011, the Delta Awards and ADI Medals have been hold during the FADfest, which highlights the energy and wealth of Barcelona in the field of design.
