From Tuesday 6 to Friday 9 February 2018, Feria Valencia will host in Halls 6, 7 and 8 the fair FIMMA - Maderalia, a major Spanish biennial fair in the sectors of materials, components and technology for the furniture industry, wood and interior design. The fair recovers its pre-crisis levels, with a showcase of 466 direct exhibiting companies and a total offer of 783 international companies and brands, which represents a growth of over 30% compared to the last edition. FIMMA -Maderalia will be held in conjunction with CEVISAMA ceramics and bathrooms fair (5-6 February).
In this regard, the strong presence of foreign exhibiting companies stands out, with 28% of the total showcase and presence of firms from 15 countries, led by exhibitors from Italy, followed by firms from Germany, Portugal, Austria and France. Complete the offer exhibitors from Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, the United States, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic and Turkey. With this, FIMMA - Maderalia will gather the most relevant national and international offer of wood products, materials and components for furniture as well as technology, machinery and software for an industry that already shows clear signs of recovery.
Boosting sectoral recovery
In fact, according to the Spanish Furniture Market Observatory of the AIDIMME Technological Institute, the supplier sector recorded a 2.6% growth in its activity last year and it has been up four consecutive years. In addition, exports of wood manufactures also grew by 10.1% from January to November last year, according to ICEX figures, consolidating the improvement of a sector that in Spain invoices more than 6 billion euros a year and employs 48,000 workers.
For its part, the sector of manufacturers of machinery and technology for wood also recorded a positive evolution with an annual turnover of more than 350 million euros, according to the employers AFEMMA. The export is key for the 120 Spanish companies in this sector since 75% of their sales are abroad.
The next edition of FIMMA - Maderalia, in this sense, will show the good tone of these sectors that hope to get a boost to their business with the presence of a very technical and specialized visitor profile and that will range from the carpenter to the installer, architect, manufacturer of furniture, designer or prescriber.
Important presence of Maghreb buyers
In addition, the fair consolidates its international commitment as a platform for export with the arrival next week of various trade missions from foreign markets more interesting for exhibitors. One of the most outstanding and numerous will be a mission from the countries of the Maghreb and the Middle East (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Lebanon), followed by buyers from Latin America from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Guatemala. . The confirmed presence of buyers from Europe will also be highlighted, especially from Portugal, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Sweden and Switzerland.
More than 61,000 m2 of exhibition, novelties and international architects
FIMMA -Maderalia is preparing for a large edition in which the exhibitors will present more than a thousand novelties along the more than 61,000 square meters of exhibition space structured in four large pavilions: pavilion 8 and level 2 of pavilion 7 for FIMMA and level 3 of pavilions 6 and 7 for the entire Maderalia area. Wireless systems to load mobiles in furniture, woods that do not get wet or burn, anti-theft locks or machinery and technology adapted to industry 4.0 will be some of the novelties planned by the exhibitors.
In addition, along with the commercial offer, the fair has prepared an intense program of parallel activities with a very prominent presence of international architects and prescribers such as the Japanese Shuichi Kobari from the studio deToyo Ito, the Puerto Rican Héctor Ruiz or the Spanishes Jose María Tomás, Ramón Esteve , Daniel Solves, Juan Bláquez and César Ruiz-Larrea, who will participate in a conference program on design, architecture and new materials for contract projects.
FIMMA - Maderalia will host various initiatives such as a contract forum for companies and professionals of automatic doors, a series of conferences and activities on wood and its use as a material for architecture and construction promoted by AEIM or an installation ‘Easy Contract ‘Designed by the Valencian architect Ramón Esteve and that will recreate different rooms of an avant-garde urban hotel using materials provided by the exhibitors themselves. It will also be highlighted the visit to the fair of characters like the mediatic ‘MasterChef’ Pepe Rodríguez, who will present a new collection of hardware.
