Gogan, the soft sofa designed by Urquiola was presented last spring in Milan for the first time and it will be one of the pieces that Moroso includes in the Autumn tour of Europe, USA and China
Moroso is on tour this fall. Following on from its participation at the first edition of I-MADE in September at the Saatchi Gallery, on occasion of the London Design Festival, the Italian design brand will be present in important events and exhibitons in Warsaw, Prague, New York and Shanghai. The Gogan sofa owes its name to Japanese stones traditionally used to protect and embellish riverbanks and lake shores. Just like with stone sculptures, where stones remain in balance as they are slotted into place, in the Gogan sofa, elements achieve balance due its slightly irregular shape: thanks to a play on gravity and equilibriums, forms which are supposed to be heavy, achieve lightness. The back and seat are joined by counterforts which confer an idea of lightness to the sofa, which appears suspended above the ground. Photo: Alessandro Paderni Photo: Alessandro Paderni
The Gogan collection is completed with an armchair and small table in various sizes, which recall organic shapes and are characterized as the sofa for the abutments of the structure. The tables are made of marble in Namibian Rose finish produced by the company Marmi Vrech, while the structure is made of Abonos fossil wood produced by Arte9 Milano.Photo: Alessandro Paderni
