Bonaldo, an internationally-renowned Italian manufacturer of designer interior furnishings, starts off 2018 by taking part in Imm Cologne (15th - 21st January 2018).
“Returning to Cologne is a manifestation of our desire to invest in traditional markets, which make up the hard core of our business, and it is an area that has an “historic” significance for the brand”, explains Alberto Bonaldo, Managing Director of the company.
Indeed, Germany was one of the first foreign markets Bonaldo opened up to, and today it makes up 10% of total turnover. Imm Cologne is therefore an opportunity for the brand to confirm its presence on the German market, also approaching the entire Middle-European area, a market that Bonaldo has consolidated and that is growing continuously.
Among the products on display in the Bonaldo booth (Hall 11.1, booth F039), the brand will present the Origami Octagonal table, a new version of the model designed by Gino Carollo, now also available with an octagonal shaped table top.
The Origami table, designed by Gino Carollo, draws its inspiration from the namesake ancient Oriental art.
“I have always been fascinated by the craftsmanship of the artisans in our tradition and by that of the sophisticated and subtle art of origami“, explains the designer.
Indeed, the base of the table consists of thin metal sheets folded like the sheets of paper used for origami, with the aim of making the frame stable and achieving the utmost visual lightness, almost as if it were challenging gravity.
The top is bevelled to recall the design of the base and to further slim down the overall appearance.
Origami is available also in the console version.
