Twice a year, in September and January, MAISON&OBJET brings together the whole range of interior design professions to offer the world's leading home-fashion event. Retail purchasers, specifiers and minor and major exporters meet at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre to witness emerging creativity, assess changing trends and plan their business's future. Next September edition, Maison&Objet come back with the energy to mobilise and bring together the various interior design sectors.
Energy to evolve with visitors
Over the years, MAISON&OBJET has refined the layout and honed its selection to present a comprehensive, legible and structured overview, facilitating visits, decision-making and contacts.
Having developed a luxury core around halls 7 and 8, with the scènes d’intérieur, now! design à vivre and MAISON&OBJET |projets| trade shows, consolidated its contemporary offering with the development of ACTUEL (hall 5B) and shone a spotlight on home accessories (hall 6), in September 2013 MAISON&OBJET is adjusting its traditional focus on interior design (halls 4-5A) to be more coherent and offer a better response to the increasing number of orders from specifiers, particularly internationally. Once again, all the satellite trade shows will be focusing even more on their specialist areas, with the dining sector adopting the name cook+design (hall 3). This new brand reflects MAISON&OBJET's gradual shift towards the art of living and particularly cooking.
The spectrum covered by MAISON&OBJET expands with every session to more precisely address its visitors’ specific needs.
Energy to provoke inspiration
In addition to business meetings, MAISON&OBJET sees itself as providing an opportunity for stimulating discoveries and deciphering the season's influences with the MAISON&OBJET Observatory, revealed each session through the creation of three Inspiration forums designed by Elizabeth Leriche, Vincent Grégoire from the Nelly Rodi agency and François Bernard from the Croisements agency. This is therefore an opportunity to discover the expression of talented designers, with a retrospective for Odile Decq (MAISON&OBJET Designer of the Year 2013) and hall layout designs by Joseph Dirand (scènes d’intérieur Designer of the Year 2013), Philippe Boisselier and Jean-Philippe Nuel.
It is also an opportunity to marvel at feats of illumination with a spectacular installation orchestrated by Motoko Ishii & Akari Lisa Ishii with Light Essentials lighted up by Japan Creation and all you need to know about the latest materials with the matériothèque matériO.
And, finally, an opportunity to reflect with Business Lounge conferences, learn about pioneering distribution models in the Retail AREA and to be astonished at the skills of leading French craftsmen at the Métiers d’Art de France forum.
Energy to support and promote the influence of creativity
For MAISON&OBJET, promoting creativity firstly means encouraging the most promising talents with the Talents à la Carte project and the Métiers d’Art de France competition.
It also means contributing to its influence among the general public through Paris Design Week, and the rest of the world with the launch in March 2014 of MAISON&OBJET Asia in Singapore.
Energy to keep pace with a vibrant market
That is the ultimate objective - the desire to steer a once-fragmented sector towards success and development and to achieve this by offering ever more elaborate services.
With meeting and networking spaces such as the Business Lounge AND THE retail AREA, by offering a personalised welcome and year-round follow-up to the most influential players, hosted at the Club, by marking out targeted pathways such as the spécialarchi.designer pathway to guide specifiers, as well as by developing the new MyM&O service which, from September 2013, will allow all visitors to create their own bespoke trade show visit.
MAISON&OBJET 2013/2014 AUTUMN WINTER COLLECTIONS presents the trade shows: MAISON&OBJET (ethnic chic.MIC, textile, cook+design, côté déco, ACTUEL, accessoires maison); craft, the arts and craft area; scènes d’intérieur; MAISON&OBJET ∣projets∣ (only in September) and now! design à vivre
