HABITAT presents four Mediterranean designers who enrich the decorative influences of its catalog

Over the years, Habitat has collaborated and experimented with designers from all over the world, so that its catalog has grown and has been enriched by the decorative influences of very diverse cultures. “The design is our friend“, title of the catalog of Habitat autumn-winter 2017, is a sincere tribute to the broad and cosmopolitan team of designers who have collaborated with Habitat this season. Among all the “designer friends” is the work of several studios from the Mediterranean basin, from DAY Studio in Turkey to Spyros Kizis in Greece, Baptiste Lanne in France or the studio Goula/Figuera in Spain

FROM GREECE ... SPYROS KIZIS’ DROP CANDLESTICK

Spyros Kizis is a young Greek designer, graduated from the University of Aegean in 2011 and with a broad trajectory, recognized internationally. On this occasion, Kizis surprises us with the elegant design of the Drop candlestick. The key to its design is the thin magnetic steel plate that supports the set of three magnetic candelabra in three colors: gold, silver and bronze.

FROM TURKEY ... THE SOFA SEDIR FROM DAY STUDIO

The young designers Yesim and Doganberk, from Day Studio, have created the Sedir sofa, an original piece inspired by the Mediterranean culture. As the traditional Turkish beds, highlights the low height of the seat, almost at ground level, and the wooden structure with a single arm. A living space that invites you to spend long hours in it: social gathering, sleeping or even eating ...

FROM SPAIN ... THE MOLINILLO BLOCS BY ALVARO GOULA AND PABLO FIGUERA

The design studio Goula/Figuera, created in 2012, has won several awards and nominations, including the Design Plus and the Lexus Design Awards. Habitat produces Blocs, a pair of salt and pepper grinders, that comes to revolutionize the concept by slightly shifting the axis of the two pieces and creating a design of sculptural lines.

FROM FRANCE ... THE NINA COAT STAND BY BAPTISTE LANNE

Another young man with a successful career that has led him to collaborate with firms of the prestige of Lexon or Philippe Stark. Since 2015, Baptiste Lanne has its own design studio. On this occasion, he presents his coat of arms Nina, from the hand of Habitat, a slender piece of solid oak wood inspired by the trees of the Amazon rainforest. Smooth and refined lines for a beautiful and eminently functional piece.
