This year, under the creative direction of architectural Studio Ruiz Velázquez, Starlite 2016 invites Carmen Barasona to design a terrace lounge VIP Starlite 2016. Interior designer Carmen Barasona creates a unique and functional space bursting with personality where patrons of Starlite Marbella can enjoy great music, spectacular views and tasteful design.
Starlite Marbella is a social and cultural European hotspot, celebrating it's fifth year anniversary in southern Spain's international party city. Located in a natural amphitheatre surrounded by lush greenery, Starlite combines the most sought after international musical acts with the finest gastronomy, film premiers, fashion events, art expositions and exclusive summer events, hosted every night by Starlite Night.
Using a unique avant-garde approach, Carmen Barasona has created a exclusive leisure space, fusing her design with the site's natural surroundings, forming a VIP Lounge that is both functional and filled with ambience.
The designer drew inspiration from the long hours women spend in the powder room, perfecting hair and make up. Inspired by the natural and sexy nature of the action, she reverts back to the core concept of Starlite; having nothing to hide, blending outdoor and indoor elements together. Placing a vanity on the public terrace creates a spontaneous addition that invites guests to relax and enjoy the small details.
The unique VIP Terrace Lounge is divided into two distinct areas, unified forming a unique, functional, and inspiring space.
Lounge Zone
The lounge zone is an area with the perfect distribution. Here, guests can relax and enjoy a few drinks, while enjoying the tranquil and classy atmosphere created by the different forms, textures, and colours, with nothing other than the star filled sky as the roof.
Another special feature are the collection of sofas, armchairs and puff that decorate the space, CARMELA for ICON of ECUS by Carmen Barasona. Inspired by the seats on public transportation in the 1960s, they provide an eclectic mix of polyhedral lines and enveloping shapes.
Carmen brings her unique talents to her CARMELA brand with unlimited versatility when combining textiles, with options to choose from various finishes such as velvet or jacquard. The legs of the various furniture can be erected in oak or ash, with options to cap them with gold or silver for the perfect final elegant touch. Or, for a total style change, they are also available in turquoise or lime green lacquer, as well as the upholstery.
The sofas are distributed on carpets by KP, in their signature azure tones. The high quality of the fabric provides the perfect backdrop of the gold lacquered solid wood coffee tables, designed exclusively for the event by hand by the Ingetura Group.
Lighting is provided by unique sculptural pieces provided by ONA and BAT of MILAN Iluminacion, bathing the terrace in a warm and pleasant light, illuminating their unique forms to bring an additional burst of unique aesthetic element to the space.
Powder Room Zone
Blending boundaries between outside and indoor area, the powder room zone boasts a conceptual powder room area. Reflecting on the importance of valuing and appreciating the small details of everyday life. Features of the unique installation are provided by Ramon Soler faucets, Fontini by Font Barcelona electric mechanisms and metallic finishes by TF de Innovus.
A one of a kind space where attendees can touch up make up in a luxurious dressing room style mirror. Illuminating the vanity area are special outdoor lights by MASAI. A Pujol Lighting mini light bathes the entire space evenly.
Boasting an atmosphere of geometric lines, eclectic colour and textile combinations, the result of the redesigned VIP Terrace Lounge is a relaxed atmosphere with an elite yet inviting character. Summer has arrived Starlite Marbella 2016!.
