On 19-22 August, Formex, the interior design and gift fair, will take place at Stockholmsmässan. Some of the guest exhibitions at this fall are showcasing repurposing, considerate arts and crafts, and paying tribute to linen and the art of table setting.
Re:Do & friends - an experimental exhibition
In the Re:Do & friends exhibition, designer Marie-Louise Hellgren invites the visitors into her design world. She twists and turns everything, pulls it inside out and thinks upside down - in other words, defies all expectations!
“I see possibilities where others see problems. Give me worn out furniture or leftover fabrics, scrap metal or airbag fabric from the factory, and I’ll create something new,” says Marie-Louise Hellgren.
The exhibition has the feeling of a laboratory. It's a place where experiment, redesign, innovation, materials and production techniques come together with the different companies carefully selected to take part in this creative world of reclaimed beauty.
The Craft Center-KHVC - considerate small-scale production
Many of KHVC's member artists work with small-scale in-house production. This contributes to a more resource-aware and sustainable society.
“It's maintaining the tradition of small-scale, unique and highly individual items that makes art craftsmanship so authentic. The exhibition showcases the meticulous and thoughtful work of craft artists active in Sweden,” says KHVC Project Manager Agnieszka Knap.
KHVC members also have their own stands adjacent to the exhibition.
Guest Café by Himla - Himla Celebrates 25 years
Himla is celebrating its 25th anniversary and will be marking this at Formex by transforming the Café in Hall A into an inspiring market place for creative meetings. Interior designer Per Wennberg is in creative control of the exhibition and Royal Court Florist Claes Carlsson, who was responsible for all the flower arrangements at Swedish Prince Carl Philip's recent wedding, has also been invited to design the table settings.
“The exhibition pays tribute to linen and the set table. We want to shine the spotlight on table linen, which is our signature product and has made us well known across Europe. We’re also thrilled that the exhibition will be displaying teasers from next spring's color schemes; it's usually just fall and winter trends on show at the autumn Formex, but we want to encourage others to show future season's trends at the fair,” explains Annica Högström, CEO and Creative Director of Himla.
Formex is the Nordic region's leading meeting place for new products, business opportunities, trends, knowledge and inspiration in interior design. Formex welcomes 850 exhibitors, 23,000 trade visitors and more than 850 media representatives.
