Central America, sub-Saharan and Western Africa and the Maghreb countries are some of the objectives of the Foreign Markets Plan. The event will re-issue the Contract Forum, that, in its latest edition, succeeded in generating business with 50 international opinion leaders.
Its strong international component is one of the major differentiating factors of Feria Hábitat Valencia. The fact of it being held together with Cevisama and Fimma - Maderalia under the initiative “See you in Valencia” has increased the appeal of this attractive stage for international purchasers. The next edition, due to take place from 1 to 5 February 2016, will strengthen the international character of the show with the launch of an ambitious Foreign Markets Plan that includes new markets of particular interest for the exhibitor companies.
It is worth remembering the good tenor of Spanish exports, with an increase of 10’1% in the first four months of the year, reaching 576’5 million euros in furniture, whereas sales abroad of lighting products have grown by 36’4% during the same period, resulting in a total of 230’7 million euros.
New markets, that are of prime interest to the Spanish Interior Design, such as countries belonging to the Magreb, Central America and West and sub-Saharan Africa will be included both in the promotion actions and in the initiatives for attracting international buyers. These are economic regions where the ‘made in Spain’ furniture has an established commercial tradition, where Spanish firms are already beginning to operate, especially in the Contract area.
Furthermore, also markets judged to be mature but which account for the greatest percentage in the Spanish exports of furniture, lighting products and interior design equipment will have special protagonism in Hábitat 2016. These include the vast majority of the member countries of the European Union, Eastern Europe, United States, the Middle East and Asia.
In the development of the International Buyers’ Programmes and promotion programmes, Habitat will have the support of ANIEME (the Spanish Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters) FEDAI (Spanish Federation of Manufacturers and Exporters of Decorative Lighting), as well as from public organizations such as ICEX or IVACE.
One of the actions to be reissued in this event, which is to be held next February, will be the International Contract Forum, a successful initiative held this year within the framework of Feria Hábitat Valencia and that generated business activity amongst Habitat exhibitors and 50 international opinion leaders that held more than two hundred meetings during three days.
“These actions and the synergies generated with the international purchasers attending both Cevisama and Fimma Maderalia aim at the objective of reinforcing the Habitat's market position as a platform for internationalisation for the exhibitor companies” the Director of the event comments.
In its latest edition, 11’3% of Hábitat's professional visitors came from 94 countries, specially from Russia, Portugal, Italy, The United Kingdom, France, Algeria, Germany, the majority of the visitor's profile being : specialist stores, importers and opinion leaders.
