Illulian, historic and prestigious brand in the field of Luxurious Custom Handmade Rugs, received the 2015 GOOD DESIGN™ Award for Link and Info, two rugs from the Limited Edition signed by Karim Rashid.
A jury of distinguished design professionals has chosen Info and Link rugs for the Textiles category Award among thousands of products from over 47 countries.
Each year, from 1950, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design presents the GOOD DESIGN™ Awards Program for the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world.
This recognition is yet another confirmation of the attention devoted by the company to an universe of design which is more and more attuned to cross-pollination with other fields: architecture, painting, sculpture, fashion, photography and television. These two rugs, part of an exclusive capsule collection, are a fine example of Rashid's creative style: a kaleidoscopic play of geometries and colors, defining a new language outside the box, which blurs the boundaries between craftsmanship, art and design.
The Limited Edition collection includes pieces styled by famous artists, in addition to Karim Rashid, such as Bob Krieger, Dario Ballantini, Alessandro La Spada, Marcelo Burlon | County of Milan, Marco Lodola, Guido Crepax and Alessandro Enriquez.
All Illulian are carded and knotted manually and are proposed in two versions: Platinum 120 and Gold 100, both of them achieving unparalleled chromatic appeal through the use of brilliant vegetable colours.
