In a solemn ceremony that took place on the penultimate day of the Ambiente fair, Messe Frankfurt announced that the new country invited to the fair is India, which received the guest country globe from the Netherlands. In the framework of the celebrations in honor of the current guest country, Detlef Braun, manager of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, stated:
“India is, after Japan, the second Asian country invited to Ambiente, something that pleases us enormously. With more than 1.3 billion inhabitants, it offers us an incomparable diversity, as well as great culture and artisan tradition. Likewise, India is for us one of the main countries in absolute number of exhibitors. I am sure that your presence will be one of the most outstanding elements of Ambiente 2019“.
The guest country globe's transfer takes place periodically, within the framework of the ceremony in honor of the current guest country. Whoever receives the globe can appear in the next edition of Ambiente with a special exhibition. This year, the Netherlands has shown in a presentation with staging.
Under the watchful eye of numerous guests from industry and politics, Pratibha Parkar, Consul General of the Republic of India in Frankfurt, received the guest country globe from the hands of the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Wepke Kingma.
With this motive, the Indian Minister of State for Textiles, Ajay Tamta, said: “India is delighted to be present at Ambiente 2019 fair, one of the largest in the world in consumer goods and merchandise as a guest country. The ideal platform for visitors from all over the world to meet hand-made Indian products that meet the highest quality requirements, and one of the main focuses of our presentation will be products for certain niche markets in the design area. With this participation, India will bring life and diversity to the fair, and will inform manufacturers, distributors and representatives of brands around the world about the magnificent possibilities that the country offers to investors and customers thanks to its powerful textile industry, fashion and of consumer goods. India welcomes this cooperation, which will help to link, in a lasting and sustainable way, the Indian industry with the value creation chain of Germany and other countries”.
This was the eighth time that the guest country globe has been transferred: after Denmark, France, Japan, the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, it will be the Republic of India that will be under the spotlight of the visitors in the next edition of the fair. The presentations of the invited countries are, together with the trend shows, one of the most appreciated special samples in Ambiente, and one of the great attractions for the public. Now, visitors and exhibitors already know that they will be able to enjoy interesting impulses and a new perspective of the current Indian design.
The next Ambiente fair will be held from February 8 to 12, 2019.
