The sustainable Ibiza collection designed by Eugeni Quitllet for the Spanish brand Vondom has won the prestigious North American Green Good Design Award 2020. The renowned competition that is celebrating its 70th edition this year recognises the most important examples of international design which, besides being state-of-the-art, are also environmentally friendly and contributing to create a better world.
This collection is inspired by the designer Eugeni Quitllet's childhood on the Spanish beautiful island; its sea breeze, the feeling of freedom, the sun on one's skin, and ultimately, the Mediterranean sea. It includes wave-shaped organic pieces that imitate sea shells.
It is for this reason that Ibiza is the first collection to be part of Revolution, the brand's committment to sustainability based on the creation of pieces made with recycled plastic from the Mediterranean Sea; a commitment with which Vondom aims to champion the all-out revolution of the eco-smart furniture industry of the future.
All in all, this acknowledgement shows that Vondom is continuing to run with strong principles based on charting new paths towards excellence. This is an ethos that will surely leave behind a legacy in the world of design.
