The Halo lamp of neo studios, created by the Cologne based Portuguese designer Rodrigo Vairinhos, has been awarded with an Icon Awards 2020 in the Lighting category.
The organizer is the German Design Council. His awards honor relevant contemporary development as well as special design achievements and enjoy a high international reputation.
The German Design Council will be presenting this award winning lighting in the context of the Passagen 2020 at the Kölnischer Kunstverein (Hahnenstraße 6, 50667 Cologne) from Sunday, January 12, 2020 on.
HALO is a stark polarising geometric suspension lighting fixture of an imposing but yet harmonious aesthetic. The linear and blocky exposed piece of the finest Italian »Arabescato« marble and the basic geometric shapes in ceramic, taking inspiration from Constructivist graphic design and Deconstructivist architecture, define the key features of this minimalistic-leading-to-brutalist design, appearing like something raw, rough, industrial or mechanical.
