New international event for industrial designers. Best product designs at Product Design Madrid

Product Design Madrid is a new generation event, the first commercial exhibition in Spain that is exclusively devoted to industrial design. This fair pursues original goals, as it expects to start up in Madrid a new professional meeting point between rising designers -national and international-, brands and producers.

The event also intends to promote the city as a promising destination for the production and commerce of product design in all of its aspects.

The fair will take place from February 13 to 16 of 2013 at the new central premises of the Architects Association of Madrid (COAM).

With the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, and Elle Decor (Media Partner), Product Design Madrid is creating a whole net of brands and professionals, together with RED, the Spanish Design Companies Association, to favor a rich event that assures visibility for more than thirty designers and commercial options for the almost ninety products that will be showcased. Besides, four international schools will present some of their student works: Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, ELISAVA Barcelona, Drvo Art School Serbia and Shih Chien University Taiwan.

During the fair, a specialized committee will select the ten best products that will immediately gain an exhibition space in Fuori Salone Milan at the Temporary Museum for New Design by SuperStudio, assuring for them an international impact. Additionally, Elle Decor is giving its Young Talent Award during the opening night, and RED will grant the Criticʼs Award to the best design conception on behalf of the Habitat Design sector.

The opening will take place on February 12 of 2013 at 8:30 pm in the presence of Faustino Díaz Fortuny, Deputy Director of Cultural Industries and Patronage (Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports) and the godmother of PDM Rossana Orlandi, recognized gallery owner and Italian patron for young designers.

General public: February 13, 14 and 15 from 12 to 10 pm, and February 16 from 11 am to 4 pm.
