Elegant, simple and sophisticated, this is the new 2nd floor of the iconic Hostal Oriente, located in one of the most historic areas of the city of Madrid.

Walking through the centre of Madrid can become an experience for the senses due to the number of historical & traditional spaces we can find. Leaving behind Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor and arriving at the Royal Palace and Plaza de Oriente we can find at the Arenal Street the Hostal Oriente Building which has been there for almost 20 years with a privileged location and that has become one of the most relevant accommodation places in the city centre of the capital.

After following closely the steps of the projects carried out by Jiménez de Nalda and previously relying on this studio for the Hostal Oriente rebranding and the new brand of apartments, Oriente Suites, David Garcia, manager of the enterprise, did not hesitate in working again with the team led by Pilu Lleó, creative director of JDN. The high degree of satisfaction on their first times working together and the professionalism of this studio convinced David Garcia to take one step further in trusting the creative studio in the renovation of the hall at the second floor, performing a careful work of interior design.

Bringing luminosity to a space with no windows or natural light was Pilu Lleó's main challenge. The colours selection, lighting and furniture were essential to achieve it and being able to transport the hall to a Parisian 40's aesthetics that the client was looking for. The white, black and gold highlights in this space of 30 meters square offers a distinctive and original touch, combining perfectly a contemporary touch with some retro-chic taste.

To give life to this space, they selected the original round armchairs of the Italian firm Abhika, with a satin metallic base and upholstered with hound´s tooth cloth, and Olhom stools. In addition, following its pace at trusting local designers and firms to develop its projects of improvement, HostalOriente, showing its good connexion with Jiménez de Nalda, proposed to collaborate with firms such as Lámparas Corredera in the neighbourhood of Malasaña, putting them in charge of the design and manufacture of the unique lamp and lighting fixtures for this space; The Frasen et Lafite florist, who with their floral centres gave a natural touch to the space, or the designer Guille García De La Hoz, in whose shop in Chueca David Garcia fell in love with the table of geometric golden lines that stands in the centre of the hall.

Another of the novelties has been the signage of this hostel, which offers a funny and stands very consistent with its corporate identity through a minimalist and recognizable icons that simplify to the maximum the function of traditional signs.

The creative studio Jiménez de Nalda is characterized by its different projects, developed with an exquisite taste and image that characterize all the projects carried out since its creation in 2010. Pilu Lleó is at the head of this studio, formed by a consolidated team specialized in marketing and design, which carries out projects at national and international level for companies such as Skyline Design, Joenfa, Tajoma, Urban Clean Dry Cleaners, Quercusdental clinics, or the dental clinic franchise network Buba®, among others.
