It emerges from a first count of the registration slips that there were over 8,200 visitors (17% more than last year), mainly qualified professional profiles: designers, architects, general contractors, buyers with precise purchase contracts; 21% of visitors were from abroad, more specifically from 53 different countries. The foreign presence doubled with respect to the previous edition, with important delegations from Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Thailand, United Arab Emirates. Some highlights are registered visitors also from Swaziland, Sierra Leone, and Malaysia... A reconfirmation of the role of Fiera di Pordenone on the international trade fair scene, after an excellent debut of the first edition.
A great success also for the “Conventions and Seminars” program, scheduled into the 4 days of the trade show. Happy Business to You 2013 hosted, in fact, over 20 appointments dedicated to key players from architecture, leading companies in the design contract sector and interesting specific topic events.
A huge crowd for Ross Lovegrove's speech - on 15th February - which was held in front of a packed hall composed of young architecture students and design professionals. The superstar was then a special guest at the party that concluded the second last day of the event. Lovegrove boasts numerous and fortunate collaborations with prestigious and important Italian furniture and lighting brands, like Moroso, Ceccotti, Cappellini, Driade, Luceplan and Alias, who have chosen his genius and creative flare over the years to bring iconic design objects and products to life. He emphasized in his talk the value of creativity in design: distinguishing features of the Made in Italy in the world. Technology, environmental sustainability and projections into the future summarize the basic concepts of Lovegrove's design culture, which views design as an indispensable tool for facing future challenges.
“This event's success is the success of a territory that managed to create a system in order to present itself on the international stage” - commented Alvaro Cardin, Pordenone Fiere President - “here we have the biggest furniture district in Europe and it's natural that the whole world looks keenly at what the Pordenone system has to offer, composed of great brands and many small and medium businesses”.
“The growth of Happy Business to You manifested itself not only through an increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors present, but also through a better offer and selection of buyers, who presented increasingly specific purchase projects in Pordenone” - commented Alessandro Zanetti, CEO at Pordenone Fiere - “I would like to thank the exhibitors for believing in this project, which will get us far if we aim at an expanded supply chain with a true “turnkey” offer for international buyers”.
